State Partners with Reditus Labs to Continue Providing Community COVID-19 Testing in Bloomington

SPRINGFIELD – Building on efforts to increase testing capacity across Illinois, the State is announcing its partnership with Reditus Laboratories, LLC to open a COVID-19 testing operation in Bloomington. The site initially will be located at the McLean County Fairgrounds and will be open seven days a week beginning Saturday, May 23, 2020 (with the exception of Monday for Memorial Day). Both drive-thru and walk-up testing will be available for individuals with COVID-19 symptoms and those who support critical services.

“Our goal is to make testing more readily available and easier to access,” said Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike. “Testing is essential to identifying the prevalence of virus circulating in our communities. Through widespread testing, we can make science-based decisions that will help us safely reopen the state.”

“Amidst these turbulent times we live in, the partnership between Reditus Laboratories, LLC and the Illinois Department of Public Health has been instrumental in strategically supporting the State’s efforts to improve access to COVID-19 testing during this pandemic,” said Reditus Chief Executive Officer Aaron Rossi. “We celebrate the results of our current work and look forward to providing testing solutions 7 days a week in Bloomington!”

“The testing site has been an asset to the community as we respond to the coronavirus. In our conversations this week we have been discussing how to make this site mobile and we are looking forward to further planning to make testing available for our most vulnerable communities,” said McLean County Health Department Administrator, Jessica McKnight. “McLean County Health Department will continue to collaborate with IDPH and our community partners as we plan to sustain our current abilities and expand future testing capabilities.”

All individuals with symptoms are encouraged to seek testing at this community site. The following individuals, with or without COVID-like symptoms, can also be tested.

• Health care workers
• First responders 
• Employees of correctional facilities
• Individuals exposed to confirmed COVID-19 cases
• Employees that support critical infrastructure (grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, gas stations, public utilities, factories, childcare and sanitation)
• Individuals with compromised immune systems, chronic medical conditions

• Fever
• Cough
• Shortness of breath
• Difficulty breathing
• Chills
• Repeated shaking with chills
• Muscle pain
• Headache
• Sore throat
• New loss of taste or smell
  

This is a no cost service that can be obtained without a doctor’s referral. You will be asked to show 1) photo identification 2) health insurance, and 3) health care employee or first responder ID/badge, if applicable.
