Preparedness Training

This Web site gives you a basic overview of how to prepare your family, household, and community for emergencies. More extensive preparedness training is available from several resources.

Household Training

The American Red Cross offers Family Care and Home Safety courses, along with first-aid, AED (Automated External Defibrillators) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training.

Disaster Readiness Courses

• American Red Cross - Disaster readiness courses focus on community preparation and safety, including event specific courses.
  
  
• Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) - Skilled professionals teach CERT modules, including disaster preparedness, fire suppression, hazardous materials, light search and rescue, basic medical operations, disaster psychology, team organization, and understanding terrorism.
